The muted tones around his form evoke a sense of calm and introspection, as if the figure is dissolving into a transcendent state.

Delhi-based senior artist Roop Chand has been creating artworks for almost 30 years. He holds a postgraduate degree in painting. In 2007, he was honored with the President's Award by the first woman President of India, Mrs. Pratibha Patil. In 2018, he traveled to Mauritius on an invitation from the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, where he, along with three other artists, represented India and created a 16-foot-long painting. Roop Chand's paintings have been showcased in numerous exhibitions both in India and abroad. His works are collected by art enthusiasts around the world.
Roop Chand is displaying his 'Sadhu' series. He began drawing and sketching sadhus during his early art education. Inspired by visits to temples and interactions with sadhus, he has created numerous paintings and drawings. The expressions of the sadhus' faces, their attire, and especially the tilak on their foreheads have deeply influenced his work. This fascination with the figure of the sadhu is evident in his art, where their forms naturally emerge, drawing the viewer's attention. His paintings predominantly feature black-and-white tones, with selective use of color, particularly highlighting the tilak of the saints.
Roop Chand's achievements have been widely covered by print, electronic, and social media both in India and abroad. His works are part of collections across the globe
